HOW TO PROPERLY CARE FOR YOUR TAHITIAN CULTURED PEARL?

To avoid damaging your magnificent Tahitian cultured pearl, it must be cared for, as it is a “living” organic material.

It is made of organic substances that are very sensitive to acids and chemical products.

It needs hydration, which is why it is better to wear it regularly rather than leave it stored for long periods.

Tips to keep it clean and shiny:

  • It is recommended to remove it before applying perfume, showering, or swimming (especially if it is a ring or pendant, and even more so in chlorinated pools).
  • It should not be cleaned with products intended for gold or silver. Simply wipe it with a soft cloth.
  • Regularly, you can rinse it with cool water and mild liquid soap, dry it gently, and moisturize it with a neutral, fragrance-free oil, such as a drop of olive oil applied with your hands.
  • If it is a necklace or bracelet strung with knots between each pearl, or jewelry made with natural seeds or components, it must never be immersed in water. In this case, simply clean the pearls gently with a soft cloth.

The Tahitian cultured pearl is born in the beautiful lagoons of Tuamotu-Gambier, but it forms inside a protective sac within the pearl oyster, shielded from sea salt.

Nature has always protected it… we just need to do the same!
